The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) says strict legal action will be taken against the manufacture, import, distribution, storage and sale of motorcycle helmets without the Sri Lanka Standards (SLS) certification mark.
During 98 raids on July 27, the CAA seized 431 non-SLS helmets and banned the sale of 3,520 helmets from two factories. More than 4,038 non-compliant helmets have faced legal action so far in 2026.
