President Anura Kumara Dissanayake chaired a meeting at the Presidential Secretariat today(11) to assess Sri Lanka’s preparedness for the anticipated El Niño phenomenon.
Discussions focused on the possible impact on food security, drinking water supplies and the energy sector, as well as measures required to manage potential challenges.
The President instructed officials to prepare and submit plans to mitigate any adverse effects and ensure the stability of these key sectors.
