A discussion to review the progress of the Clean Sri Lanka ‘Clean Colombo’ programme was held at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (9), chaired by Secretary to the President Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.

The programme covers sewerage network and drainage canal improvements, environmental beautification and waste management.

Progress on projects being implemented by relevant institutions, including the Colombo Municipal Council, Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation, Urban Development Authority and Road Development Authority, was reviewed.

The meeting also discussed integrating other Clean Sri Lanka initiatives relevant to Colombo into the programme.
