Police arrested more than one thousand individuals on 22 November during the island-wide operation, “Nation United – National Drive,” aimed at eradicating narcotics.
During the raids, police seized three hundred and nineteen grams (319 g) of heroin, one kilogram five hundred and eighty-five grams (1 kg 585 g) of crystal methamphetamine ('Ice'), two kilograms five hundred and eighty-six grams (2 kg 586 g) of hashish, cocaine, and other toxic drugs.
Twenty-one suspects were placed under detention orders for further investigation, while twenty-nine others were sent for rehabilitation, police reported.
The operation is part of a government effort to curb drug trafficking and related crime.
