Deputy Transport Minister Prasanna Gunasena says bus fares will not increase despite the latest fuel price hike.

He said fare revisions are made according to the existing pricing formula.

Under the formula, bus fares are revised only when fuel prices change by more than 4%.

As the recent fuel price increase did not exceed that threshold, no fare revision will be implemented.
