Showers will occur at times in Sabaragamuwa Province and Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts today (18), the Department of Meteorology stated.

Several spells of showers are also expected in the Western and North-Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur in parts of Uva Province and Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.

Fairly strong winds of 30–40 kmph may occur in several areas. The public has been advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning.
