The first leg of the MILO Football Champs 2024-Northern Province (Under-10 and Under-12) was held in the Mannar District on 24th February 2024. The game had a participation of 64 teams in total, comprising 16 Girls teams and 48 Boys teams.
Emerging victorious this weekend, the winning teams from the Mannar district triumphed from the following schools:
- Mannar Adampan Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School (Girls Under-10)
- Mannar Illuppaikkadavai Tamil Maha Vidyalaya (Girls Under-12)
- Mannar St. Xavier's Boys National College (Boys - Under-10)
- Mannar St. Xavier's Boys National College (Boys Under-12)
From this weekend’s event, the teams representing the following schools are qualified to compete in the highly anticipated final round, scheduled to be held at the Duraiappa Stadium in Jaffna on 23 March.

Unleashing the potential of future football stars, the Milo Football Champs programme aims to ignite the sportsmanship skills of aspiring athletes in the Northern Province. Alongside the tournament, a select group of talented individuals will receive specialised training on weekends over the coming months, guided by seasoned coaches from the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association. With the support of the Ministry of Education, Northern Province Department of Education, and the sponsorship of Nestlé Milo, the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association will manage the facilitation of this programme.
