A Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) K8 training aircraft crashed near Minuwangete, Wariyapola, today (21) after losing radar contact during a routine exercise.
According to reports, both pilots ejected safely and were unharmed.
The incident took place this morning when the two-seater jet, used primarily for pilot training crashed due to unknown reasons. Emergency teams located the wreckage shortly after the pilots parachuted to safety, with no ground casualties or injuries reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
