The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has announced that 1,332,311 litres of diesel and 2,019,600 litres of Octane 92 petrol have been distributed islandwide, ensuring sufficient fuel stocks for public consumption.
CPC Chairman D.A. Rajakaruna stated that current reserves are adequate to meet 37 days of petrol demand and 35 days of diesel consumption.
Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakody urged the public not to engage in panic buying or hoarding, stressing that there is no fuel shortage.
Fuel distribution from regional depots will continue as usual.
Authorities have also strictly prohibited issuing fuel into barrels, jerry cans, or bottles.
