British Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy arrived in Sri Lanka this morning (17) for a brief but intensive official visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and addressing global social issues.

During his stay, Lammy is scheduled to hold high-level discussions with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister to explore avenues for bilateral cooperation and mutual development.

A key highlight of his visit will be participation in the Global Charter on Children’s Care Reform, hosted at the UN office in Colombo.

This summit focuses on enhancing family-based care and protecting children’s rights worldwide.

Following the summit, Lammy will meet with Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj to discuss shared priorities concerning welfare, protection, and social development initiatives.
