The Jaffna Magistrate’s Court is scheduled to deliver its decision regarding the third phase of excavations at the Chemmani mass grave on 16 March.
The case was taken up today (9) at around 9:30 a.m. during a hearing before Magistrate S. Lenin Kumar. During the proceedings, a review of the ongoing excavation at the mass grave site was conducted.
The court was informed that measures had already been implemented to remove rainwater accumulated in the excavated areas.
Following an on-site inspection, the Magistrate ordered that the next hearing be held on 16 March, and announced that the dates for the third phase of excavations would be fixed on the same day.
