Sri Lanka’s first successful childbirth via in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in the state health sector took place yesterday (31) at Ragama’s North Colombo Teaching Hospital. 

The healthy baby was delivered by C-section following a year-long effort by the University of Kelaniya’s fertility centre.
