Telecommunication operators have agreed to prioritise emergency calls and reduce network congestion as adverse weather continues to disrupt communication across Sri Lanka.

At a meeting convened by the TRCSL with the Presidential Secretariat and key telecom providers, the Government discussed urgent measures to restore damaged networks affected by power outages and tower failures.

Authorities will coordinate with the CEB to provide generators or alternative power sources to affected towers, while transport and security agencies will support technical teams in reaching disaster-hit areas for rapid repairs.
