The Ministry of Education (MOE) decided to assign a dedicated officer to each state university to receive complaints related to ragging, in light of recent concerns on the issue.

According to the Ministry, these officers will be appointed under the purview of the Governing Council of each university.

The Ministry also summoned Vice-Chancellors of all state universities to Colombo for a meeting with Prime Minister (PM) Harini Amarasuriya.
