In the latest SA20 league auction, two young Sri Lankan cricketers, Eshan Malinga and Vishen Halambage, were successfully picked by the Paarl Royals franchise.

Malinga, a fast bowler, was acquired for 1 million South African Rand (approximately LKR 17.3 million), while the 20-year-old Halambage was bought for 200,000 South African Rand.

However, several experienced Sri Lankan players, including Kusal Janith Perera, Maheesh Theekshana, and Binura Fernando, went unsold.

The auction also saw South African star Dewald Brevis become the most expensive player in the league's history, going to the Pretoria Capitals for a record R16.5 million.

Aiden Markram was the second-highest bid, sold to Durban Super Giants for R14 million.
