The term of office of the National Police Commission of Sri Lanka is scheduled to end tomorrow (15), with its final meeting set to take place today (14).

The commission, chaired by retired Supreme Court Judge Lalith Ekanayake, was appointed on 15 May, 2023.

Current members are expected to continue carrying out duties until new appointments are made.

The National Police Commission functions as an independent oversight body with supervisory authority over the Sri Lanka Police and its officers.
