Minister of Trade Wasantha Samarasinghe told Parliament that large-scale mill owners are hoarding Keeri Samba rice, causing an artificial shortage in the market.

He stated the government will offer concessions to farmers to boost Keeri Samba cultivation and ensure they receive fair prices for their produce.
