Showers are expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (25), according to the Meteorology Department.

Some areas may receive fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm.

Strong winds of 40–50 kmph are also possible in several areas, including the Northern, North-Central and North-Western provinces and the Central hills. The public has been advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning.
