Two Supreme Court (SC) judges, Dilip Nawaz and Priyantha Fernando, have recused themselves from hearing petitions related to former Navy Commander Wasantha Karannagoda, citing personal reasons.

The petitions, filed by families of 11 youths who disappeared in 2008, challenge the Attorney General’s (AG) decision to withdraw charges against Karannagoda. 

The case will now be heard by a different bench on 15 September 2025.
