Multiple protests were held across the country today (27) condemning the alleged diversion of a $2.5 million loan installment owed by the government to a foreign entity.  

The Sarvajana Balaya organized a demonstration this morning in front of the Ministry of Finance premises, expressing strong opposition to the reported incident. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) staged a protest in front of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), also condemning the alleged financial misconduct.  

In addition, the ‘Aragalaye Purawesiyo’ group organized a separate protest today outside the Central Bank, further highlighting public concern over the incident.
