The Cabinet of Ministers has approved granting permanent appointments to nearly 9,800 currently employed in the state sector on temporary and contract basis.

The proposal was jointly presented by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as Finance Minister and the Minister of Public Administration.
