The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning about the likelihood of strong lightning and thundershowers in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces after 2.00 pm today (20).

The department also advised that strong winds may occur temporarily during thunderstorms in these areas. 

The public is urged to take necessary precautions to minimize the dangers associated with lightning and severe weather.
