The National Water Supply and Drainage Board’s (NWSDB) SMS gateway has been compromised, with customers receiving ransom demands for 1.5 BTC from the official NWSDB short code. 

The messages, claiming to be from “Alpha Team,” follow legitimate billing updates, raising concerns about a data breach. 

The extent of accessed data is unclear, and authorities have not yet commented. 

Customers are advised not to respond and to report suspicious activity to officials.
