The Presidential Task Force on the Implementation of Sri Lanka’s Tourism Development Programme convened this morning (26) at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Vijitha Herath. 

The meeting focused on the challenges faced by the tourism industry amid the ongoing global energy crisis. 

Discussions emphasised strategies to ensure an uninterrupted fuel supply and provide critical support to sustain and advance tourism activities in the country.

Key topics included the status of tourist arrivals, maintenance of hotels and attractions, and initiatives aimed at attracting visitors from conflict-affected regions. 

The progress of the Beira Lake cleaning project was reviewed, alongside issues impacting the film tourism sector, with an aim to develop practical solutions.
