The Cabinet approved construction of a new three-storey building adjacent to the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council Complex.

The project will be funded by Provincial Council funds at an estimated cost of Rs. 196.8 million.

The Cabinet noted the existing 2003 complex is overcrowded, with over 950 staff and multiple departments operating in limited space.

The new building is intended to provide additional office space and facilities.
