Showers or thundershowers are expected in several parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. today (4), the Department of Meteorology stated.

Rainfall above 75 mm is likely in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, Southern, Uva, North-Western and North-Central provinces.

The public has been advised to take precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
