Former Secretary to the President Saman Ekanayake has appeared before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.

He arrived at court as the case against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe over alleged misappropriation of public funds was taken up for hearing.

Former President Wickremesinghe also appeared before the court earlier today in connection with the case.

The complaint alleges the misuse of over Rs. 16.6 million in public funds for a private foreign visit to the United Kingdom in 2023.
