The 120th Richmond-Mahinda ‘Lovers’ Quarrel,’ battled out at the Galle International Stadium, ended in a spirited fightback from Richmond and a brilliant counter-attack by their opponents at their inaugural three-day encounter. The series began in 1905. 

The highlight of the game was the last wicket partnership in the first innings for Richmond by Bevin Jayawardana (52) and Pubudu Mihiranga (47), whilst Mahindian skipper Kaveen Rukshan’s 4-wicket haul demolished the Richmond camp on Day 2.
