A team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka later this month to hold review discussions related to the next tranche of financial assistance.
According to Anil Jayantha Fernando, the visit will focus on assessing the country’s progress under the Extended Fund Facility agreement.
The IMF has already released five tranches to Sri Lanka, and the upcoming discussions will evaluate the government’s compliance with programme conditions and overall economic performance.
Following the review, necessary agreements are expected to be reached regarding the release of the sixth tranche.
