A group of senior members of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) have emphasised that all party members must align with decisions taken by party leadership, regardless of internal disagreements.
Their remarks come amid a wave of resignations by electoral organisers, following disputes over recent appointments to local Government institutions.
Among those who have stepped down are MPs Chaminda Wijesiri, Anura Buddhika, and Ranjith Aluwihare, along with organisers from Galle, Dambulla, and Nuwara Eliya.
The resignations were formally submitted to party leader Sajith Premadasa and General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara.
Reports suggest further resignations may follow, as tensions persist over the decision-making process within the party leadership.
