By Mihi Perera Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam today stated that Basil Rajapaksa is scheduled to re-enter Parliament from the 8th of July onwards. Today, MP Jayantha Ketagoda resigned as MP to make the seat available for Basil Rajapaksa, as Sagara Kariyawasam told The Morning recently that MPs were ready to resign to make way for Basil Rajapaksa. Accordingly, the General Secretary Kariyawasam told The Morning that the relevant letter will be handed over to the Commissioner of Elections today. "If it is gazetted tomorrow, Basil Rajapaksa will be able to take the oaths in Parliament on the 8th," he added.
