Basil Rajapaksa’s name has been gazetted as a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National List today (07).
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam yesterday (06) stated that Basil Rajapaksa is scheduled to re-enter Parliament from the 8th of July onwards.
MP Jayantha Ketagoda resigned as MP to make the seat available for Basil Rajapaksa, as Sagara Kariyawasam told The Morning recently that MPs were ready to resign to make way for Basil Rajapaksa.
