Birthday wish

Last Sunday (18) was State Minister Siripala Gamlath’s birthday and the person to remember and announce it was Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage at the governing party’s parliamentary group.

After the group meeting, all governing party MPs attended the dinner that was organised for them.

All members were engaged in lighthearted chats while having a drink. Minister Aluthgamage had even sung a song. He had then remembered that it was Gamlath’s birthday.

“Today is State Minister Siripala Gamlath’s birthday and I wish him all the very best,” Aluthgamage had announced, adding in jest: “In order to celebrate his birthday, Gamlath has decided to reduce the price of a kilo of rice by Rs. 20.”

All MPs at the dinner had laughed and then made their way to wish Gamlath.

Gamlath and his family own the Nipuna rice mills.
