Body on Dikkowita beach yet unidentified

BY Safrah Fazal   The deceased male whose body was found washed ashore at the Dikkowita Fisheries Harbour in Wattala on 5 August has still not been identified, the Police Media Division (PMD) said. Speaking to The Morning, the PMD said that the post-mortem report of the deceased has been delayed as a result of the delay in the identification of the individual in question. The body of the deceased still remains at the morgue of the Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama. The body of the male was discovered on the beach towards the northern end of the Dikkowita Fisheries Harbour in Wattala on 5 August. Detectives said that the body was found inside two fertiliser bags, one covering the torso, and the other covering the lower part of the body. In addition, both the hands and legs were bound, said the Police. The deceased is believed to be between 35 and 40 years of age, and was wearing a blue t-shirt, and black shorts, with a silver ring on one of their fingers. Meanwhile, the post-mortem report on the body of a deceased male that washed ashore at the Ratmalana beach has also been delayed, as the individual in question is yet to be identified.
