BOI to promote Eravur Textile park for Korean investment

The Chairman of Board of Investment (BOI) anticipates collaborating with the Sri Lanka Embassy in Seoul, and with the Korean Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI), to promote investment opportunities at the Eravur Textile Park in August 2021. This event will be followed by a webinar on investment prospects at the upcoming Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Zone in Hambantota, which is scheduled for November this year.

BOI Chair Sanjaya Mohottala, has recently called the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Woon Jin Jeong in order to discuss possible opportunities that would contribute in attracting Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) inflows to Sri Lanka.

At the meeting, Mohottala briefed the Ambassador on the BOI initiatives that attract FDI from Korea. The Ambassador was optimistic of the prospect of Korean companies investing in Sri Lanka and it has been also supported by Saj Mendis, the Ambassador for Sri Lanka in Korea, KOTRA and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka.

The BOI Chairman also appreciated the efforts of the Ambassador of Korea at the recently concluded Sri Lanka Investment Forum (SLIF) breakout session featuring Korean Investors.
