The Body Shop opens at CCC

07 Feb 2019

By Chenelle Fernando The Body Shop is the brainchild of its late founder Anita Roddick, who constantly worked on the belief that make-up could be something revolutionary. No stranger to the beauty faction for its remarkable skincare and hair care services, the brand was in existence since 1976. Furthering itself as a force for good, the organisation’s commitment to enrich our planet, its biodiversity and resources is also commendable. The Body Shop, being four stores strong right here in Sri Lanka, in light of celebrating the opening of its latest store at the Colombo City Centre, organised an event. The organisers had panned out an array of activities for its visitors to engage in throughout the course of the day, which included hand massages, giveaways, various offers and memberships. Renowned makeup guru, Founder of The Wax Museum, and big time social media influencer Nadiya Fernando also graced the occasion. A UK certified makeup artist, Nadiya conducted two make up sessions, one with the glass skin look which was then transformed to a bronzy evening look. Focusing on the glass skin look, Nadiya said: “It is a Korean inspired make-up trend. We’re moving away from the highly contoured matte make-up look to a more youthful fresh glowy look.” The second session featured two other looks, the no makeup make-up look, which was then converted to the ever so trendy black smokey eye makeup look.
