Long has the question been asked; where does one find good pie in Colombo? This October, Sugar Bistros presents the answer. Throughout October, all Sugar Bistros (located at Crescat, Odel and Galle Fort) will present the month-long Life of Pie promotion, featuring 10 contemporary variations of pie that pay homage to classic western and local flavours.

What makes a great pie? American playwright, film director, screenwriter and author David Alan Mamet believes, “We must have a pie. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie.”

Ten types of pie, 10 bold flavour combos that include; classic bacon and egg, butter chicken, the quintessential Sri Lankan black pork curry and onions, chilli beef, creamy seafood, pepper steak and mushroom, slow cooked lamb and mint, and even a special selection for plant eaters: spicy pulled pollos and eggplant parmigana. Each of these gorgeous pies are encased in buttery, flaky goodness, and served with a side of creamy mash, gravy and fresh vegetables.

Pies will be available from lunch through to dinner at each Sugar Bistro outlets. The single serve pies can also be ordered in advance for take away. Best served piping hot, straight from the oven, the Life of Pie range timely with the start of the monsoon rains.
