Following the Sri Lankan Government’s request for a USD 1 Billion loan and a USD 1.5 Billion credit line from China, China’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong says the request is being considered. Since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, China has provided Sri Lanka with a USD 1 billion term loan facility, USD 300 million term loan facility and USD 1.5 billion currency Swap.
