Former MP and Chairman of the National Housing Development Authority Duminda Silva has been arrested while receiving treatment at the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital today (01)
This was made known by Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa.
Earlier today, The Morning reported that Silva was indeed admitted at the hospital in ward 18 and was receiving treatment for an unknown illness.
Silva was sentenced to death by the High Court of Sri Lanka for the murder of Sri Lankan politician Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra, and was released in 2021 under a special presidential pardon by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
