Colombo City Centre (CCC) has announced that they will host a holiday camp for kids aged four to 13 years on 20, 21, 27, and 28 August. The aptly titled exclusive four-day edutainment-packed camp, “Kidventures”, will offer kids an adventurous and unique experience with the opportunity to explore and discover new interests, skills, and talents, while creating memories that will last a lifetime. CCC said that they hope this edutainment camp will be of great value at a time when the psychological wellbeing of kids is adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic and political upheavals that hit the country back-to-back, and also, the resulting recurrent disruptions to schooling. During this school vacation, ensuring that kids engage in healthy habits away from their everyday struggles will be a challenge that CCC has said they would gladly tackle. The “Kidventures” holiday camp will be an ideal opportunity for kids to keep their minds and bodies active, while their parents finally take that well-deserved break. It also presents an ideal personal growth opportunity for kids, removed from their school-home routine, to take on new responsibilities and challenges while honing new skills and developing confidence and independence in the process. But best of all, “Kidventures” will be an ideal space to form new friendships amidst fun and learning that may last a lifetime. Ballet and drumming workshops will be conducted by Ranara Academy on 20 August from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on 21 August from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., respectively. A robotics workshop and a STEAM activity (an activity covering science, technology, engineering, art, and math) will be conducted by Learnware from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on 27 August, and a coding workshop followed by another STEAM activity will be conducted by Learnware from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on 28 August.
