Covid-19 : Isolation in several areas lifted
Isolation orders of several areas in the Colombo and Gampaha Districts were lifted at 5 a.m. today (23), Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva stated.
Accordingly, the Borella, Wellampitiya, Colombo Fort, and Slave Island police areas in the Colombo District will be reopened.
However, the Wekanda Grama Niladhari (GN) Division in Slave Island and the Wanathamulla GN Division in Borella will continue to remain in isolation.
Isolation orders on 13 more police areas in the Colombo District will be in effect until further notice.
In addition, the isolation of Ja-Ela and Kadawatha police areas in the Gampaha District were also lifted today, while five police areas in the Gampaha District will continue to remain isolated until further notice.
As learnt, the following areas will remain under isolation until further notice:
Colombo District: Mattakkuliya, Modara, Grandpass, Bloemendhal, Kotahena, Port area, Adirippu Street, Dam Street, Pettah, Keselwatta, Maligawatta, Dematagoda, and Maradana
Gampaha District: Negombo, Wattala, Peliyagoda, Ragama, and Kelaniya
Kalutara District: Bogahawatta, Bamunumulla Muslim GN Division, Hirimanthudawa, Korawala, Atulugama West, and Bamunumulla, Galahamandiya GN Divisions
