Covid-19 | Over 260,000 PCR tests carried out

Authorities conducted a total of 269,483 PCR tests since the Covid-19 outbreak hit Sri Lanka.

This data was disclosed by the National Operation Centre for Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

Meanwhile, 43,849 individuals were released from quarantine centres across the island as of last morning (22).

As of yesterday, 6,626 persons were under quarantine in 66 quarantine centres managed by the tri-forces.

The number of detainees in quarantine at the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre and the Senapura Rehabilitation Centre stood at 646 as of yesterday, of whom three infected persons are still being treated.

The NOCPCO, while noting that there were no positive cases in society, stressed the need for the public to continue their health practices and help in the prevention of transmission of the virus as per the health guidelines.
