All future deaths related to Covid-19 will be reported on the same day within 48 or 24 hours, the Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena said today at a media briefing (14).
Accordingly, the recent deaths that were reported earlier will not be reported under this new methodology.
Speaking further Dr. Asela Gunawardena, Director General of Health Services said,"Earlier, we reported deaths on a daily basis, including deaths in recent days, but from today onwards, all deaths related to Covid will be reported on the same day as in the last 48 hours. We now have a system in place to report all deaths within 48 to 24 hours on that day. "
