Island-wide police curfew will be re-imposed from 10 p.m today (27) until 4 a.m tomorrow (28) the Police Spokesman said. Reports state that the curfew imposed in Kalmunai, Chavalakade and Samanthurai areas will continue till further notice. The curfew will stay in effect due to a shootout that broke out between a suspicious group and security forces yesterday (26) during a search operation carried out in the area.
