US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung was last week engaged in her first official visit to the Southern Province. While driving to the south, Chung had been fascinated by a signboard by the side of the road that warned drivers to be cautious of peacocks that could enter the road.
“Good Monday morning! I’m on the road this week, my first official visit to the Southern Province. First observation: I’d never imagined a dangerous peacock, but now I can’t stop looking for them!” she tweeted with a photograph of the signboard that read ‘Danger peacocks ahead’.
