The Deputy Chairman of the Mihinthale Pradeshiya Sabha Lalith Edirisinghe has been suspended from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) following his arrest. The Deputy Chairman had been arrested yesterday (01) under suspicion of abusing a 15-year-old girl who was sold online. The SLPP stated that he has been suspended from his duties and he cannot function as a member of the SLPP until further notice. SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam also said in the statement issued by the party that disciplinary action will also be taken against Edirisinghe.
