Digital ID for Covid vaccination to be implemented

Namal Rajapaksa, Minister of Youth and Sports said that a digital identity card with new technology will be issued to the public in the next few days to make the Covid vaccination more efficient as a result of discussions with the Ministry of Health and the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) . The new digital identity card, which includes information on vaccinations, will provide each individual with the latest technology, including the date, place, time and type of vaccine issued by the government, as well as relevant information and the date, place and time of the second dose. The Vision of Prosperity policy clarifies a people-centered digital governance system that is being brought to the practical level for the first time and is expected to avoid the difficulties associated with vaccination through technology and the Internet. Digitization is the hope of the next generation to perform public services efficiently. Commenting on the new digital identity card issued for Covid vaccination, Minister Namal Rajapaksa said, "We must also introduce new technologies for the benefit of the people in the country to overcome the difficulties that come with the epidemic. Such is the hope of the new generation in this country. Therefore, the Ministry of Youth and Sports initiated it as a responsible ministry that meets the needs of the youth of the country."
