Disabled soldiers call off protest
The disabled soldiers, who were engaged in a protest in front of the Fort Railway Station for weeks, called off their protest a short while ago.
Disabled soldiers launched their protest demanding pension anomalies be bridged by the Government.
As a measure the government on the 25 September approved to provide all the members of the Armed Forces, Police and the Special Task Force who have been disabled due to the war, to receive a pension equal to their last salary even after their retirement.
However the disabled soldiers continued their protest demanding that pension be provided to their families after their lifetime.
