Deputy Director-General of Public Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath today requested various groups and individuals not to make requests to cut corners to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
He said various parties have made requests trying to get the vaccines out of the procedure. "If someone comes with a request to get 250 people vaccinated from a centre where we have made plans to vaccinate 1,000 people, we have to stop the vaccination. Don't make requests for vaccines out of the procedure," he said.
Meanwhile, the PHI Union's President Upul Roahan said if a politician tries to get the vaccine for his associates, the people who voted form them won't receive it. "Such influence was reported in the CMC area. If there are such attempts of obstructions, then we will have to take a decision," he said.
