Dr. Arjuna de Silva has requested the government to take steps to ban the use of masks with a valve, such as the N95 face mask.

"The N95 mask, which has a valve, is designed for factory use," he stated. He stated that the N95 does not filter germs through the valve, and therefore can spread germs to the community.
